Be a part of Rochester History! A chance at being awarded a $1,000 college scholarship or one of several other exciting prizes!  Support your community through appearances at several community/charitable events representing Rochester's most famous tradition, the Lilac Festival; the largest celebration of it's kind in North America!


Requirements:

1. Female between the ages of 15 - 18

2. A Freshman, Sophomore or Junior in High School in the Monroe County or Greater Rochester Area (Must

be here throughout her year as Queen)

3. G.P.A. of 2.5 or better (Copy of Transcript must be included)

4. 5x7 Head shot (Black & White OR Color)

5. Essay Question -The essay must be Typed, Times or Times New Roman font and size 12, a Maximum of 300 words.

MARCH 10th, 2007

Application Process:

Submitting an application does not automatically put you in the running for the 2007-2008 Lilac Queen. All applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges. All applicants will be asked to join us on Sunday, March 18, 2007 for a private interview between 10:00am and 1:30pm. The judges will rate you on a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest. The interview will be based on Poise, Personal Presentation, and Public Speaking.  Family and Friends can join us on March 23, 2007 for light hors d'oeuvres, entertainment and a cash bar as well as "floor seating"; prior reservations will be required. Free balcony seating will be available at 6:00pm, when the doors open to the general public.
