P-GREECEATHENASAS2007-03-01-1172783513.jpgHow special is Nick Marcucci? Out of more than 5,000 applicants nationwide, he's one of just 20 students to win a National Arts Merit Scholarship in Musical Theater.

This Greece Athena senior is a dedicated singer and actor. Peforming is in his blood! "I'd love to start my career in either film or television," Nick says. "Try the soap opera route, and get into movies, or start with touring companies, Broadway shows, and actually graduate to Broadway, but whatever I do I just hope that I'm working in the field that I choose which is performing. I hope I'm not waiting tables too long!"

Nick's been playing the piano since age 5, and still takes lessons today. His teachers say he's a great role model. "Exceptional," says Greece Athena Vocal Music and Drama Director, Judith Ranaletta. "I have said to him that in my near 30 years of teaching, I would rank him number one as the finest male actor I have ever worked with."

Nick was accepted into 2 all-state singing groups, and he was selected to sing in the All Eastern Choir as well---an invitation that went out to just 300 students from 12 states. "The chances of getting into that are very slim," says Nick, "so I'm very lucky to have gotten into the group and I'm very proud of that."

Nick has already performed in TV commercials and movies. It all adds up to a promising start. If anyone was ready for a career on stage and in film, it's Nick Marcucci!
