How not to be a Bridezilla

bride-groom2007-01-29-1170095178.jpgBudget: Set a realistic budget; discuss it with anyone that's involved with paying for the wedding such as the groom, and both sets of parents. You can find a budget worksheet in the Rochester Bride & Groom publication. The worksheet can help you estimate what your budget is for each category, from your reception to the florist.

Delegate: Pick the 10 most important things in your wedding. Do these tasks yourself and delegate the rest.
There is a reason why we have Bridesmaids, close friends and family. Get them involved! However, you have to remember that they don't need a bunch of rules and stipulations given with the task. Let it go!

Have an Open-Mind: Remember the wedding is not just about you. It's the coming together of the two families. So when your soon-to-be Mother-in-Law wants to make something crazy for your wedding. Let her! And enjoy it! It can only add character to your wedding.

Don't worry about things you do not have control over, such as the weather. Some of the best wedding photos I have viewed were taken in the rain. Find the "good" in every moment!

Let the professionals do the work! Your Uncle Kevin should be enjoying the wedding, not running around as the photographer. Allowing family and friends to do the work of the professionals is a sure way to end a friendship. Business is business. There are a # of wedding professionals that offer affordable options. You can begin by looking on the Rochester Bride & Groom website: www.RochesterBride.com

Enjoy and Relax! The planning, your wedding, and every day after are supposed to be fun! Enjoy it! Take a moment at your wedding to look around and capture the smell of the flowers, the cake, the guests, and most important…your husband. This will be unforgettable!

Brides can register online to receive the free publication or pick it up at Wegmans, Tops, local Bridal Shops, Bon-Tons, their local wedding retailer, etc…
