Bills sign QB Fitzpatrick

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills today announced the team has signed free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Russ Brandon said, “We’re excited to have Ryan join our team and feel he will add to our quarterback corps. Over the course of Ryan’s career, he has been a very productive player and certainly brings many positives to our organization.” Fitzpatrick appeared in 13 games, making 12 starts during the 2008 season with Cincinnati and set career-highs in completions (221), passing yards (1,905) and touchdowns (8). In his four-year career, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 2,682 yards on 297-of-507 passing along with 12 touchdowns in 19 games played, making 15 starts. The 6’2, 225-pound Harvard product originally entered the NFL as a seventh round (250th overall) draft choice by St. Louis in 2005 and was acquired by Cincinnati via a trade in 2007.
