Marshawn Lynch will be charged with three misdemeanors relating to his arrest in California last Wednesday. His lawyer, M. Gerald Schwartzbach says Lynchs team is "pleased they are misdemeanors as opposed to felonies." Originally, it was reported Lynch would be charged with a felony.
The three charges are essentially all for the same act. Lynch is being charged with possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle and possessing an unregistered firearm.
Lynch is next due in court on April 2nd, but his legal team is hoping to accerlerate the process.
Lynch was arrested on Wednesday, February 11th for possessing a loaded 9mm pistol. Police decided to search the vehicle after noticing Lynchs parked Mercedes Benz had no license plates. The arresting officer then noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He found four marijuana cigarettes, but did not charge Lynch or the other 2 men in the car with any drug charges.
