Police: Lynch Had Marijuana In Car

By: Thad Brown
Updated: February 18, 2009
The Culver City police told WGRZ-TV in Buffalo that Marshawn Lynch had marijuana in the car when he was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm last week.

According to the report, officers approached the car when they saw it "parked suspiciously, but still running." The car also did not have proper license plates.

When the occupants rolled down a window, the aroma of marijuana was noticeable. The officers had the occupants vacate the car to investigate further and found four "blunts" that appeared to contain marijuana. There was no arrest for the drugs because police could not distinguish which occupant actually possessed the drug.

During that investigation, police found the gun. The Culver City PD is confident the charge will be prosecuted.

Lynchs attorney, M. Gerald Schwartzbach, told WGRZ he finds it "unfortunate some persons have chosen to provide one side of an issue when defense counsel has not been provided with any information."
