The Rochester Americans used four different goal scorers to earn a much-deserved 4-1 over the Iowa Chops tonight at Wells Fargo Arena to kickoff a five-game in six-night stretch on the road. The win is Rochester’s second in its last three games and marks the first ever win against the new Iowa franchise this season. Shawn Matthias, Randall Gelech, Drew Larman and Karl Stewart each contributed single goals throughout the night, while second-year netminder Tyler Plante, in his fourth consecutive start for the Amerks, posted a 33-save effort to pick up his second win of the season en route to second star honors. Eric Boguniecki tallied Iowa’s lone goal as Jean-Philippe Levasseur made 20 saves in the losing effort for the hometown Chops.
