(Binghamton) The Rochester Americans dropped a 4-1 decision to the Binghamton Senators tonight, at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. This is the Amerks second loss in five nights to the Ottawa Senators affiliate. The loss drops the Amerks to 13-24-0-3 on the season. The Senators were led by Ryan Shannon who assisted on all three Senators goals. In goal for the Senators was Jeff Glass who stopped 36 of 37 shots he faced. On the power play the Senators got on the board first when Greg Mauldin netted his seventh goal of the season from Shannon at the 12:04 mark of the first. Less then a minute later the Senators stuck again to make it 2-0 as Matt Carkner found the back of the net for the second time this season. The Senators took a 3-0 lead early in the second period when Tomas Kudelka tallied his third goal of the season. The goal came on the power play and was assisted by Shannon who posted his third assist of the night. Rochester got on the board at the 17:15 mark of the Second when Michael Duco beat Senators goalie, Glass. Duco’s eighth goal of the season was assisted by Shawn Matthias and Stefan Meyer. The Senators put the game away when former Amerk Denis Hamel scored an empty net goal at the 17:15 mark of the third.
