SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Orange moved up to No. 8 in both the Associated Press Poll and the ESPN/USA Monday rankings. The Orange was formerly ranked 11th and 9th, respectively, in the two polls. Syracuse is one of eight BIG EAST teams ranked in the top 25. Syracuse, 16-1 overall and 4-0 in BIG EAST play, is off to its best start since the 2004-05 season when the Orange started the season 20-1, including going 7-0 in conference play before suffering a setback at Pittsburgh on January 29, 2005. Most recently, SU recorded an 85-68 victory against DePaul and followed it up with an 82-66 road win against the Scarlet Knights on Saturday night in Piscataway. The Orange is back on the road for a 7 p.m. game at #13/12 Georgetown on January 14. Syracuse returns to the Dome Saturday, January 17 for a 12 p.m. matchup with #12/13 Notre Dame. Tickets can be purchased online at SUathletics.com, via phone at 1-800-DomeTIX or at the Carrier Dome Box Office during regular business hours.
