Buffalo Bills Safety Arrested in SC

By: WROC-TV
Updated: January 6, 2009
Buffalo Bills safety Ko Simpson is charged after an incident outside a South Carolina bar early on New Year's Day.

Simpson was arrested after police in Rock Hill confronted the driver of a car Simpson was riding in.  Police said that they stopped Frederick Hart, 28, for speeding through a parking lot.  Simpson was in Hart's vehicle.

Police said that Hart became angry with police, and so did Simpson, who police said was "verbally abusive."  Simpson allegedly began screaming "I'm Ko Simpson with the Buffalo Bills.  I am worth millions!"

Police said they arrested Simpson only after several officers specifically asked him to leave.

Simpson has played his entire career with the Bills after he was selected in the 2006 draft.
