Devendorf Back With Orange

By: Thad Brown
Updated: January 6, 2009
Eric Devendorf was back with the Orange at practice Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Its expected hell play in the teams Big East opener Tuesday night against Seton Hall. According to a Syracuse University release Saturday, Devendorf completed 40 hours of community service in order to be allowed back with his teammates. He still must be reinstated as a student in January and will have more punishment to performthen. Devendorf was suspended on the 19th after an altercation with a female student in November. Originally, the junior guard was suspended for the rest of the season, but an appeals board reduced the penalty to the community service and suspension from basketball until the community service was completed. Its likely the only thing that would prevent Devendorf from being uniform Tuesday night is the judgement of head coach Jim Boeheim.
