News 8 Now shines the Scholastic Arts Spotlight on Alexandra Blazey...who's already taking all the right steps toward a career on Broadway. Alexandra's got a knock-out voice, and she puts it to good use. Not only does she take voice lessons, she performs every chance she gets: on stage at high school, in community theater, and professional venues like Geva.
"I started performing when I was 10." says Alexandra. "Ever since I was little my mother had Broadway music playing in the house. So I would dance around to that as a little girl, and I started my shows, so I just got hooked."
"Her passion for singing and for the stage is so evident," says Victor chorus director Katherine Dupra. "She takes advantage of all the opportunities she possibly can, in school and in the community. She's just a pleasure."
Alexandra's in the top 10% of her class at Victor High School. While she works for straight A's, she's also auditioning for college---where she wants to major in musical theater. Congratulations, Alexandra Blazey!
