One person is dead after a car accident in Steuben County, and sheriff deputies say the weather is to blame.

Deputies say the two-car accident happened on I-86 just before 6 p.m. Monday. Investigators believe Raymond Thompson was towing a U-Haul when he hit a car he was passing. This caused Thompson's car to overturn and slide off the road. Thompson suffered rib and head injuries. His wife, Sharon, died in the accident. The operator of the other car was not injured. Deputies say silippery road conditions most likely played a role in the crash.
