Orchard Park, NY - The
Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has agreed to terms to re-sign CB
Leodis McKelvin. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
McKelvin led the NFL with an
18.7 punt return average (23 for 431 yards) in 2012 and became the first player
in team history to return two punts for a touchdown in a single season. He added
20 tackles (19 solo), one interception and three passes defensed in 13 games
with four starts.
Since entering the NFL as
the team's first-round (11th overall)
draft selection in 2008 from Troy, he has started 33-of-64 games played and made
153 tackles (126 solo), six interceptions, 30 passes defensed, two forced
fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
McKelvin holds the franchise
record for punt return average with a 16.33 mark (39 for 637 yards) with three
touchdowns and has returned 91 kickoffs for 2,407 yards (26.5 average) and one
touchdown in his career.
