Mt. Read Red Light Tickets To Be Reviewed Due To Traffic Light Issues

By: WROC-TV
Updated: March 4, 2013
If you received a red light ticket in the Mount Read Boulevard area, the city says it may not have been your fault.

Rochester Police and the city's red light camera vendor are placing holds on red light tickets issued at the intersections of Mount Read and Driving Park Avenue and Mount Read and Emerson Street because of a computer glitch in the traffic signals there. The glitch caused a shorter clearance time for yellow lights than the city set. The problem was corrected last month, but the city says it does not know how long the glitch had been causing problems.

The problem at both intersections only applies to the southbound lanes of travel and does not include left turns. Anyone with questions about tickets they received at these intersections is asked to call the Parking Violations Bureau at 428-7484.
