State Assemblyman and Monroe County GOP chairman Bill Reilich has announced that he will run for Greece Town Supervisor in November.

Rumors of a possible run have recently been circulating, but Reilich made it official Friday at Greece Town hall. Reilich is no stranger to politics. He has been a New York State Assemblyman for this area for the last decade. Dozens came out in support of the announcement, including county executive Maggie Brooks, State Senator Joe Robach and the Greece Town Board. The town GOP committee voted on the nomination Thursday night and no other names were even floated.

Longtime supervisor John Auberger can't run this year because of term limits. If Reilich wins, he would be able to remain as the chairman of the county Republican committee, but he would have to step down from the New York State Assembly.
