Dontay Caruthers scored 39 points with 11 assists as (3)East hammered (6)Spencerport 85-39 in a Class AA2 quarterfinal Friday night at East High.

Caruthers directly contributed to 61 of East's 85 points. Rian Carter added 14 points.

Devan Pascoe led the Rangers with 13.

East will next face (2)Athena in the semifinals Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena. The Trojans pummeled (7)Churchville-Chili 66-44 Friday night.
