Family escapes fire in North Dansville

The Danville Fire Department said the homeowners and five children escaped a fire that engulfed their home early Thursday morning in North Dansville.

Dispatchers received the call just after 1:30 a.m.  Fire crews arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.  The home had working smoke detectors which helped the residents exit unharmed.

Fire investigators believe the fire started an an outside furnace/boiler and then spread to the home.
