The Victor Varsity Winterguard team is putting the finishing touches on their program, as they hope to beat out the 29 other teams competing this weekend.
There are 19 members on the team, and many of them participate in Winterguard for similar reasons.
"I'm very passionate about the activity," says Brianna Farrell, a Junior at Victor and member of Winterguard. "I love performing in front of the crowd. I love the feeling that you get."
"I do it because I love performing, also," says Jenna Defranco, a senior and member of Winterguard. "Just knowing that you're improving and getting better and doing what you love. It's such a rush."
Winterguard isn't your typical school sport.
"It's a very unique sport," says Mary Burke, who is the coach and director of the team. "It incorportates a lot of different things like dance. It also incorporates theatrics in some ways, depending on the show style, as well as your regular color guard skills."
Teams from all across New York State, Virginia and Canada will be competing on Saturday.
It all gets underway Saturday at 11AM at Victor High School, and tickets are available right there at the door.
