Rochester Police were called to a home on Tacoma Street around 8:30 Wednesday morning. When they arrived police found a man dead.
"I just looked out the window, and I was like, oh my God," exclaimed neighbor Jeronda Hill.
Hill lives just down the street from 41Tacoma Street where police were called to a burglary in progress.
"I just hope everything will be alright. I do live here. I have nieces, nephews, kids. Ya know, it's crazy," said Hill.
When investigators arrived...They found the door wide open. An unresponsive man was lying on the floor.
"There were signs of trauma," said Rochester Police Commander Tim List. "But how that, what the cause was, or what not. We'll have to let the medical examiner make that call."
Because this happened at a busy time during the morning, police went door to door asking neighbors if they saw anything suspicious.
"Police want to know what's happening, if Isaw something, if I was outside or not, but I tell them no, said neighbor Angel Cruz.
Investigators used canines to help trace tracks in the snow. They're hoping that and what neighbors have to say help explain what happened here.
"A regular part of our policing efforts is to have neighbors look out for neighbors. And call when they see things that look suspicious. So if they believe something is out of the normal, to call. And that's what somebody did. And that's how officers got here in the first place," explained List.
The medical examiner's office is working to try to identify the man and the cause of death. Police have made no arrests.
