A lot of local grocery stores were packed Friday with people stocking up on what they need.

Grocery stores have stocked up on all the essentials to help customers weather the storm. Shoppers we talked to say they're used to the western New York winters -- but they say better safe than sorry.

"Veggies actually, not any of the normal things, no milk, no bread," said Madeleine Rimpas.

"I know to have stuff in the freezer, and staples in the cupboard. I'm prepared. I was a Girl Scout," said Ruth Thaler-Carter.

The shopping did taper off earlier this evening -- because Scott says the snow should come to an end by the morning.
