Justin Burr is bound for Broadway and his first steps are on stage at Spencerport High School. He played the lead in the classic musical, "Singin' in the Rain." "We had to tap dance so I learned how to tap dance in 3 months," he says. "I'd never tap danced before and by the end I was asking the choreographer for harder steps to do because I just loved it so much. That's probably the thing I'm most proud of." Justin practices his singing and performing skills in the Spencerport Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. He also plays trumpet in the school band. His first play was in the 4th grade and since then he's performed in 11 musicals, both at school and in community theater. "He is extremely dedicated to music," says Vocal Music Teacher Ann Murphy. "He is an outstanding singer. I would say Justin will achieve anything he wants to achieve." "I love performing on stage and seeing the audience's reaction after the shows," says Justin. "That's the thing I like the most."

Justin plans on studying musical theater in college and has his eyes set firmly on the Great White Way in New York City.
