Rochester, NY - More than 1500 will be "freezin' for a reason" this weekend at Charlotte Beach.

The 13th annual Polar Plunge is taking place on Sunday.

Plungers gather during the morning and have some fun with live music, food and entertainment.

Then at noon, everybody takes the icy plunge into Lake Ontario.

This morning, Ashley Zilka and Stacey Pensgen got a little taste of what it'll be like for the plungers.

The plunge takes place regardless of the weather - rain, shine, or blizzard!

The event benefits the Special Olympics. Last year, more than $250,000 was raised for the organization!
