Irondequoit 58, Athena 55

Tyler Stenglein scored 15 points, including a half-court heave at the first half buzzer, as Irondequoit snuck past Athena 58-55 in Greece Tuesday night.

It was the second straight game where the Trojans allowed a half-court buzzer beater. Rush-Henrietta beat Athena when Bay Barley hit from on his knees at half court to beat the fourth quarter buzzer. That game was also decided by three points.

Derrick Kemp led all scorers with 16 points for the Eagles while Wyatt Smith added 12 points.

Deion Hamilton paced the Trojans with 14 points. Zac DiSalvo and Anthony Lamb scored 13 each for Athena.

Irondequoit is now 16-2 and has clinched the top seed for the Class AA2 playoffs. Athena is second in the class with a 12-6 record.
