A gun owners' group has announced its intention to sue New York State over its tough new gun law.

The New York Rifle & Pistol Association, along with a Farmington-based group called AR15.COM LLC, filed the notice of claim on Tuesday. The group says the New York Safe Act violates the constitutional right to bear arms. Other plaintiffs include the Westchester County Firearms Owners and the Sportsmen's Association for Firearms Education.
