A national group has made it possible to protect some forestland in the Finger Lakes. The group, called TD Forests, provided $150,000 to the local chapter of The Nature Conservancy. The local group then used that money to buy 107 acres of forest in the town of Naples, Ontario County. The Nature Conservancy says with this move, it will be able to safeguard water quality in Canandaigua Lake, protect wildlife, and open the area to hikers.
