Two students and a bus driver were injured after a car hit a school bus in Avon Thursday afternoon. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 39 and Littleville Road.

Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies say 33 year old Joseph Szwaczkowski rear ended the bus as it prepared to stop in front of a house. He was not injured, but was ticketed for following too closely.

The bus driver and two students, a 12 year old and a nine year old, were taken to Strong Hospital with head and neck pain. Five other students on board the bus were not injured.

Deputies say distracted driving, the driver following too closely, and sun glare were all contributing factors in the crash.
