A group of Rochester women are facing federal charges for allegedly stealing Oxycontin pills and selling them over a period of nearly two years.
The State Attorney General's office says Stacy Clark, Jessica Connolly, Anestacia Wilson, Bettina Wilson and Shantell Williams went to local pharmacies across the city to fill up fake prescriptions. Investigators say Williams wrote the others fake prescriptions, which she had access to as an office manager in a doctor's office. In return, the women paid her in cash. The Attorney General's office also says the women used Medicaid benefit cards for insurance payment, which cost the state thousands of dollars.
All the women are charged with grand larceny, falsifying business records and offering a false instrument for filing. They all faces two and a third to seven years behind bars.
