Catherine's Peace Team

For the first time since the tragedy at Newtown, Catherine Hubbard's family is speaking out. Catherine's aunt, uncle and cousins live in Pittsford. Kelly McCormick-Sullivan and her husband Daniel have three children. 9-year-old Jack is the oldest.
Last week, Jack came up with the idea to form Catherine's Peace Team. They're raising money for an animal sanctuary in Catherine's honor. The sanctuary will be built in Newtown. Here at home, Jack says they'll plant a tree in Catherine's name. "Instead of Catherine's Animal Tree, or Catherine's Gun Control Tree, I think we should keep it to World Peace and that stuff," he says.
Catherine's Peace Team is led by Jack, and is made up of Jack's friends and family. In just one week, they met to dream up ways to remember Catherine and raise money for the animals she loved so much. "It was really quite amazing t watch as this group of young people brainstormed," Kelly says, "and I think it gave all the parents there great hope that the world's going to be okay."
