A driver and a passenger are recovering from an accident late Friday night.

According to police, two Rochester officers saw a car speeding on Main Street. The car failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into the front of building on North Winton Road.

The building had a business in the front and a residence in the back. The officers immediately helped the driver and passenger out of the car, seconds later both the car and building caught fire.

They then went to help a male, a female, and their pets get out of the house. None of them were injured.

The driver and passenger were taken to Rochester General Hospital with minor injuries. The two police officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
