House Approved Sandy Relief Package

The House approved a $50.5 billion emergency relief package for the victims of superstorm Sandy.
A majority of Republicans opposed the measure. The bill includes some $16 billion to repair transit systems in New York and New Jersey, and about the same amount for housing. The Senate is expected to pass the measure early next week.
