The Rochester Amerks are set to honor all first responders on Monday for "Hometown Heroes Day."

Players will wear a special West Webster Fire Department patch on their jerseys during the game. The team says it's a way to honor the victims and all those affected by the Webster tragedy on Christmas Eve.

After the game, the jerseys will then be auctioned off online all week. All proceeds go to the West Webster Fire Department. To show their appreciation for Rochester's hometown heroes, the Amerks are offering all first responders a free ticket to the game. All you have to do is go to the team's website.

"It's a great community. I think it's something that impacted so many people and I think it touched us all personally in some way and I think everyone was looking for a way to contribute and if we can do one small thing to help, I think that would be great," said Rob Kopacz, VP of Operations.

The game starts at 1:05 on Monday against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Rochester Police Department will face-off with the Rochester Fire Department following the Amerks game.
