From the halls of the Harley School, to the hill in Washington, D.C. 10th grader, Erin Brennan-Burke is headed to the Presidental Inauguration.

"I was really excited," explained Brennan-Burke. "I was jumping up and down and thought this is really exciting!"

That was about a month ago. We met a slightly calmer 16-year-old, sitting through her Math class on Monday. She admits her mind wasn't on math, but rather thinking about this weekend, when she will have a prime seat at President Barack Obama's Inauguration.

She won two tickets through Senator Charles Schumer's ticket lottery.

"I just happened to check my email because I don't check it very often, and the email said reply by midnight tomorrow to be able to get the tickets. I was like thank God I checked!"

It's been a dream four years in the making.

"I was like 12 and I was like this is so amazing," Brennan-Burke said. "And, I was like we should have gone this year. It's such an historic moment."

And one that she and her entire family had planned to attend whether she won the tickets or not.

"I was like parents! Let's go next time there is an inauguration. So, this summer we started looking at hotels and figuring out the feasibility of actually going."

Although, Erin says Schumer's tickets make the trip that much better.

"It's something that will be in the history books forever and how cool to be there while it's happening."

Erin will be picking up the tickets on Thursday. She'll head to Washington, D.C. Friday afternoon and stay there through the weekend.
