Former Gym Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Student

A former city school gym teacher is now facing charges for allegedly having sexual contact with one of his students.

Matthew Lomaglio is charged with course of sexual conduct with a child and endangering the welfare of a child. The District Attorney's office says Lomaglio had continuous sexual contact with a male student under age 11 during the 2006-2007 school year. Prosecutors believe the crimes happened on school grounds. Lomaglio worked at School #19. A district spokesman says Lomaglio has been moved to an alternative work location within the district.
