Rochester, NY - Kelly Kovaleski knows the pain of losing a child to cancer.

"Our son was added to the quilt last Spring," says Kovaleski. "He passed away in June of 2011."

The angel quilt holds the pictures, names and ages of children who have lost their battles with cancer, and earned their angel wings.

"Over 2 classrooms are diagnosed with cancer each day, and over 7 will die over the course of their treatment," Kovaleski says.

Malcom Sutherland-Foggio was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a malignant bone tumor, when he was just 11-years-old.

"While in the hospital receiving treatment, he told his mom one night, 'there's not enough people to help us. We need to make some noise about this'," explains Kovaleski.

So he started the organization, "Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer," and tomorrow, the brand new Western New York chapter is holding a bash to celebrate, and raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer.

"We're gonna have a cocktail hour with entertainment with the balloon lady and Flyin Brian," says Lori Kovaleski, Nicholas' aunt. "They're going to be there to entertain the kids. It's a family friendly event. This is about kids."

And about raising money and awareness, and honoring three local angels, Nicholas, Julianna and Lauren, who all lost their battles with cancer.

"Hopefully in the future we won't have to have this event because everything will be cured," says Kovaleski. "But right now its about raising awareness of what's out there, what's happening, and that these kids really need our help."

The bash is Saturday from 5-10PM at the Riverside Convention Center. For more information, click on the link:  http://www.makenoise4kids.org/index2.php
