It was an early start Friday morning for a special load of supplies headed to Connecticut.

A truck filled with "Stuffed Hugs for Sandy Hook" left from the Brighton Fire Department's Station One shortly after 6 a.m.

A local mother and daughter organized the teddy bear collection to give to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary.  Twenty school children and six adults were killed inside the school by a gunman earlier this month.

Amy Dickason was one of the coordinators.  She said the truck full of teddy bears reflects a caring community that is always willing to rally to help others.

The delivery was delayed one day by Thursday's snowstorm.  The shipment should arrive in Newtown Friday afternoon.
