Some four-legged friends visited patients at the hospital, dressed in holiday attire. Dogs actually come in to visit every Tuesday, but today was special for the holiday. The visits are actually considered therapeutic. Volunteers say the dogs bring such joy to patients.
"I just can't tell you how wonderful it is, even going to nursing homes, from people who look right through you one week but then are interacting the next week. you just never know what you're gonna get and it's just a wonderful experience for me, and she gets satisfied with her petting," Lee Wagar said.
The dogs also visit patients at Monroe Community Hospital, the Jewish Home in Brighton and several other places.
