Lancers Slip By Wichita

Rochester opened the scoring six minutes into the match when Miller put the home team in the lead 2-0. Rochester managed to up their lead to 4-0 when Jeremy Ortiz finished off a crafty feed from Miller minutes later. Wichita cut the lead in half just over a minute into the second quarter when Frederico Moojen headed a ball past Rochester goalkeeper Gavin McInerney.
The third quarter saw the defensive struggle continue, although Moojen nearly tied it early however his redirection of a Matt Clare pass in front of a wide open net missed leaving the score 4-2. Rochester's Mauricio Salles didn't miss as he increased the Lancer lead halfway through the quarter with a left footed blast past goalkeeper Sanaldo Carvalho making the score 6-2. Rochester began to put some distance between them and the Wings less than two minutes later when Miller tallied his second of the game. The third quarter concluded with the Wings cutting the Rochester in half when Moojen struck for the second time making the score 8-4.
Two minutes into the final stanza, the Wings Victor Quiroz scored on the powerplay to bring the visitors to within a goal at 8-6 where the score would stand until the final minute of play. Following a penalty to the Wings' Geison and Quiroz that gave the Lancers a two-man advantage, Stephen Basso scored to give Rochester an insurance goal and a 10-6 lead and the win
Four every goal that the Lancers score this season Dunkin' Donuts will donate a pound of coffee to Foodlink. With five goals scored today, that is five more pounds bringing the season's total to 55 pounds of coffee for Foodlink courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts and the Rochester Lancers.
The Lancers will continue their four game homestand on Saturday, December 22 when they host the Syracuse Salty Dogs beginning at 7:00 p.m.
