A labor fight is brewing at Monroe Community College.

The current contract for MCC's 1,200 teachers expired in August. Talks with the administration are at a stalemate over everything from salary increases to health benefits and number of faculty. MCC president Anne Kress sent a letter to the MCC community, acknowledging the two sides are far apart and the impasse is discouraging. The next bargaining session is later this month.
