The trial of a 24-year-old accused of killing his former roommate in Brighton was briefly held up over an issue with a juror.

It was like a domino effect once the one alternate juror got dismissed. The judge had to interview all of the remaining jurors individually. That meant putting Maxwell Wyant's trial on hold for hours. Although defense attorney James Nobles would not go into specifics, he said personal information was possibly leaked to the whole panel.

"We received some information that some information may have been given to the jury, to the panel as a whole, that someone received some information and may shared it with the panel as a whole so we had to check with each individual person to make sure that if that was heard or understood or seen it wouldn't effect them in any way going forward," Nobles said.

Once the trial got back on track, Investigator Karch from the Brighton Police Department took the stand.  Karch recorded video at the scene on the night of the shooting, which was shown to the jury. he explained how 14 guns were inside the home.  Wyant and CJ Schoen use to live in a house together. Police say Schoen went back to the Home and there was a fight over property which led to the deadly shooting.

At today's trial, several witnesses took the stand including Schoen's friend Sandy Smith. She told the court room she heard Wyant say he was going to kill his roommate. The defense said her testimony didn't hurt them.
