The Seneca County District Attorney's Office says Karl Karlsen has been indicted on charges of murder and insurance fraud.
Deputies say Levi Karlsen, 23, was found pinned underneath a car back in November of 2008 on Yale Farm Road in the Town of Romulus.
The case was initially ruled an accident, but deputies say they developed new information that indicated Levi's death may not have been accidential.
Deputies say Karlsen had a substantial life insurance policy that was taken out on his son days before his death.
Authorities say Karl Karlsen was the sole beneficiary. Deputies say they have also been in contact with insurance fraud investigators because of 1991 fire in California.
That fire claimed the life of Karlsen's fire wife, Christena.
