The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County is said to be haunted. That's why one television show decided to pay a visit in August. Ghost Hunters spent two full nights at the library investigating.

The Rundel Library has become a popular place these days thanks to the television show Ghost Hunters. A lot of these stories have been dismissed in the past. That's until security cameras picked up evidence that the library staff needed.

For the past four years, Sally Snow has worked at the library. She sent surveillance video to Ghost Hunters and the rest is history. On Wednesday night, in the episode called "Due Date with Death," the 80-year-old library will expose all its secrets.

Like doors opening and closing by themselves.

"It happens when no one is around. Usually early in the morning or late at night. Only a security person or maintenance person would be in the building. You see them passing by on the security camera. Five minutes later the door would open and close," said Sally Snow, Assistant Director for Monroe County Library System.

Or the freight elevator in the library that is known to move by itself. Legend has it that Frank the librarian had a heart attack in the library in the late 1980s. He tried to get to the elevator for help but later died in the hospital.

"We've had people leave recording devices in the stacks overnight and you can hear the sound of the elevator. The engine firing up and going. The motors working, but there's no one in the building to work it," said Snow.

In the upper stacks people have seen "creepy figures" lurking around the bookshelves.

"If you walk down some of these corridors, you will run into fire extinguisher panels which are glass and they make a mirror and you can see yourself, but people said when they walk toward it, they look at themselves but they also see a little head pop from behind the shelves,  said Snow.

So do you believe in ghosts? You can find out for yourself Wednesday night.

The episode will air at 9 and 11 p.m. on Syfy.
