Updated: November 21, 2012
Monroe County sheriff's deputies found a pick up truck, trailer, and Christmas trees that were stolen from a home on Walker Lake Ontario Road in Hamlin Wednesday afternoon.

A passerby spotted it near St. Leo's Church on Lake Road and called police.  The truck had a few flat tires, and deputies are working to count the trees.  No arrests have been made.

Deputies say the theft was discovered around 7 o'clock Wednesday morning.

Deputies say the key was left inside the pick up truck, and the thief simply drove away.

The 350 Douglas Fir trees are valued at $12,000.

Deputies have recovered the trailer where the trees were stolen.  That recovery was made in Hilton near St. Leo's Church on Lake Road.  Nobody was with the truck when it was recovered and no arrests have been made.
