Doug Miller, from the Rochester Lancers joined Mark Gruba on News 8 at Sunrise Wednesday.
He talked about the Lancers Eat Right Treat Right Challenge.  It's a school assembly program featuring Lancers players at local schools.
The "Eat Right" messaging includes valued healthy living advice, including the importance of nutritious, balanced diets.  The "Treat Right" messaging refers to the importance of taking care of your own bodies while also treating those around you with respect, as part of an anti-bullying campaign.  Lancers players use their own stories, lifestyles, and interactive elements to share this messaging with local students.
This program was kicked off midseason of the Lancers 2011/12 inaugural season with an initial goal of reaching 10,000 local children in our community.  The total number of children reached by this program in year one was 15,000!
