More than thirty dogs from Louisiana will now find a home here in the Rochester area.

That's thanks to the Rescued Treasures animal shelter. The dogs were scheduled to be put down. Volunteers rescued them and brought them to Western New York. The dogs and cats will soon be put up for adoption at Scottsville Veterinary and Lollypop Farm.

If you'd like to adopt one of these rescued animals you can call Rescued Treasures at 585-210-2509

Pet peeve??? Do you even know about other shelters in the US and the barbaric way they euthanize and treat animals. We are LUCKY to have a haven like Lollypop near us. They don't euthanize randomly, gas animals, beat them, give them no bedding food and water, ignore any health issues, give them no A/C in scorching conditions to watch them suffocate to death, etc... Lollypop cares and sets an example for the entire nation. They are who they are because of that caring and generous spirit. They cannot police Craigslist and they do assist RAS but how many kennels of Pitbulls do you think they can have? I love Pitbulls and rescue them and there are great pitbull rescues that pull from RAS and Lollypop to help that breed not be destroyed. Don't make a great rescue moment - which we need in this day and economy - that gives us hope and a good story for once - be your "pet peeve" if you are truly uninformed as obviously you are.

This is one of my pet peeves. Why do rescues/shelters pull dogs from other states when we have our own overpopulation problem? I know for a fact that Lollypop euthanizes animals due to overcrowding. So again, why bring in more dogs when you are killing the ones that are already in your care??? Even if you are a no kill rescue, take 15 dogs out of RAS or 15 of the free dogs listed on Craigslist and find them homes. We need to fix Rochester%u2019s pet overpopulation issue before bringing dogs in from other parts of the country.
