Some young children in our area have come up with a unique way to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Students from several local area schools have pitched in to host an event called: "Sand: Aid". People were able to drive up near Pittsford Plaza Sunday and buy bags of food from various donors. All of the proceeds from the sales will go directly to Hurricane Sandy victims.

The money will go to a fund set up by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The students raised well over $8,000.
