Deer Hunting Season Begins in New York State

Several hunters in New York were up early this morning to start deer hunting season in the Empire State.

The state DEC says it expects the 2012 season to be another good year for deer hunters. In the last two years hunters have ten in more than 230,000 deer.

The deer population is expected to be above average this year in Western, New York. Like every year, the state DEC is stressing the importance of hunter safety.
