After just over a year in prison, former New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi has been granted parole.

Hevesi was sentenced to one to four years in prison last year after being convicted of a felony charge of official misconduct. Hevesi admitted to accepting nearly $1 million in exchange for approving $250 million in pension fund investments he might not have otherwise approved.

Hevesi could be released as early as December 19th.
