Rahn to Parole Board: "What I Did Was Wrong"

By: WROC-TV
Updated: November 14, 2012
In his meeting with a parole board, former Greece Police chief Merritt Rahn admits to making bad choices.

Rahn was granted parole on Tuesday. He was convicted two years ago after a jury found that he impeded an investigation into a hit-and-run crash involving one of his officers. They also found him guilty of falsifying the background check of another officer. When asked why he would do such things Rahn responded, "I ask myself that every day; stupidity, laziness, ignorance. I don't know."

In his ending statement, Rahn apologized for what he did, saying "I can promise you that if I go home, you'll never see from me or hear from me again."
