As of 7pm Friday, more than 3,000 people in the Rochester region remained without power, most of those in Monroe County.

The Adaniya family in Irondequoit is on day four without power

"Everyone on this side of the street lost power and then the other side, they are still okay," said Ashley Adaniya.

They are taking it in stride. They have relatives nearby and no lights or television mean some extra family time.

"We have a gas fireplace, we can turn that on. And we have been reading and magazines and you know it's not too bad," said Adaniya.

4 year old Audrey Adaniya understands why the power went out. "A tree knocked over," she said.

She said she has enjoyed playing games with her mom, dad, and sister, but she said it's tough to live without Spongebob.

"Because I just want it back on," said Audrey about the power outage.

Rochester Gas and Electric says crews are in overdrive and even outside help is here.

"We've been working on it, chipping it away," said Dan Hucko, RG&E Spokesperson.

RGE hopes to have most Rochester area customers back on by midnight Friday

"We ask for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience but our crews have been working very, very hard to get this cleared up as soon and as safely as possible," said Hucko.

The Adaniya's are being patient but hopeful.

"I really hope it is back on. It's going to be a rough weekend I think, we are running out of clean laundry and stuff like that, so hopefully tomorrow," said Adaniya.
